Marketing tips for trainers: Number 37

Hi Trainers

Daily marketing tips for trainers

This week here are some simple to implement tips to for trainers.  So trainers, get with the marketing this week with ease!

Monday Morning Must Do’s

Let’s face up to the N word.  Rather than duck the issue today let’s give ourselves permission to understand that when marketing a “no” is sometimes the outcome.  A “no” is information about what works and what does not.  So here is a new mantra for you: “Despite being fab, not everyone is going to love my stuff.” Let Us face up to the fact that some people will walk away and not even look at you. Do not take it personally.

This is business and it just is how it goes. So if you get a rejection think that it is a “no, not now” rather than a “no never”.  It is okay to get some rejection and we need to smile and move one.

Tuesdays’ Tips

Your Tuesday’s Tip is to find the people that love your stuff and keep them coming back. If you don’t know what clients come back to you, find out today!

Wednesday Wish Lists

Get some testimonials from your clients this week and get them up on your website!

Thursdays’ Themes

Make your theme today a reflection on what you activities you have undertaken over the past month to generate some new or repeat business.  What worked well and what needs a tweak?

Fridays’ frequent freebies

Back by popular demand, this Friday if you are the first person to DM me with the message ‘I claim my freebie’ you will get a £50 voucher to be used against my Accelerate Profits Workshop in December.

Saturdays’ celebrations

What successes are you celebrating looking back over the week? What challenges are you wrestling with?

I’d love to hear from you so post them in the comments section below here.

Have a great week. I hope you enjoy my marketing tips for trainers and that they are giving you more success with your training business.

Marketing tips for trainers: Number 35

Hi Trainers

Daily marketing tips for trainers

Here we again and another week has flashed by.  I hope you are getting some good results from my daily marketing tips.  Remember that if something you are doing is not giving you the result you wanted you are still getting a result.  Learn from what has happened and then tweak what you are doing and try again.

I hope you are a convert to the need to do some marketing to make a success of your business.  This week I have another set of tips for you.  I have tried to give you some ideas that you can fit around your training business as I know that you need to spend some time training as well as marketing! Often it is hard to get the balance right. So here we go and I wish you every success this week.

Monday Morning Must Do’s

This Monday think about whether you need a coach to help you with your marketing.  If you were a sports person you would have a coach to help you develop.  I think the same is true of marketing.  A coach can help you examine what you are doing and will I am sure get your creative juices flowing.  There are many coaches out there and you may indeed be able to coach yourself so you know how valuable that kind of support is.  If you want someone to get under the skin of the issues you might like to find a coach who knows about How To Market Training perhaps?

Tuesdays’ Tips

Make some time for your marketing.  One of the most common issues I hear raised is that people say to me I don’t have time for marketing. The problem often occurs when training delivery demands are heavy.  The danger with not finding time is that when you do have the time your need for results will be urgent.  As Duncan Bannertyne said in his book one of the first things to do is to get rid of your TV so you can find some more time.  I’ve cut down my TV time and wow! I’ve got plenty of time to do something meaningful instead!

Wednesday Wish Lists

This Wednesday make your wishlist item the need to not over perfect something.  A great saying is that ‘the best is the enemy of the good’.  Perfection is credible to aim for but actually with marketing you are better making something good enough, testing your results and adapting. Spending too long perfecting before a launch can waste that precious resource: time!

Thursdays’ Themes

Be resilient, work to overcome adversity.  Haven’t you found that just as something is on a roll life throws something left of field at you and suddenly you are fire fighting and problem solving again? Spend some time this Thursday reflecting on your attitude to adversity. A very successful business (the kind that has pulled itself off the floor multiple times) is built with accountability, responsibility and ownership – not excuses, denial and blame. So when an obstacle appears as you build your business as it always does, remember that you have the ability to overcome it. You won’t be the first person this has happened to and so can learn from others who have been there and solved it. From where I sit, the better you get at overcoming obstacles – the more successful your business is going to be.

Fridays’ frequent freebies

Back by popular demand is this particular Friday Freebie! Yes It is still on offer! I can’t do this for much longer though as my diary is getting full so if you want to get the free coaching offer sign up now!

Marketing tips for trainers: Number 34

Hi Trainers

Daily marketing tips for trainers

Here we are at the beginning of a new week.  The year is flashing by and it will soon be Christmas before we know it.  There is enough of the year left to make a bigger impact with your training business so this week let’s get going!

In the corporate training arena, your skill alone isn’t enough to catapult you into the public eye. In my experience too many trainers think that simply being good at what they do will earn them a loyal following of clients and spark a rush of referrals. This might work for a while and indeed I’ve had some personal experience of this working for me, but it hasn’t worked in isolation.  The fuel that makes a training business grow is marketing!

This doesn’t mean a crass sales cold call driven technique, quite the reverse it is much more subtle and sophisticated.  If you cringe when you read the word marketing it is probably because you have been on receiving end of some poor marketing technique.  We can all learn from those experiences in other walks of life!

Monday Morning Must Do’s

This Monday think about a competitor you envy.  What is it about them that makes them successful?  How do they look to the potential client compared to what you offer? Do some research and really discover what they do.  Research is often skipped over in the rush to generate some activity, but let’s not mistake activity for results!  Do your research today even if you only spend an hour on the internet searching and learning what your competition is up to.

Tuesdays’ Tips

Your inner voice can be the single biggest roadblock to your success. Do you avoid marketing activity because you are afraid of the results, the costs, or simply because you cannot ‘do’ marketing?  Challenge your self-beliefs and reprogramme your mindset.  If you haven’t got a large budget do something small scale – test and examine the results.  If you don’t know where to start, start small and build from there.  If you simply won’t make an approach for fear of rejection then think about how to pull enquiries and clients to you.

Wednesday Wish Lists

On your wishlist is how to stand out from the crowd.  What is it about your business that is different? Think hard about that and remember you can differentiate in a number of ways.  Try looking at it dispassionately – if you are struggling take a sneak peak at Fridays’ Freebie as this might help you!

Thursday’s Theme

This Thursday’s theme is on referrals.  One of the most effective and valuable marketing approaches begins with those you already see on a regular basis: your clients. If they’ve flourished under your guidance, clients gladly become your walking advertisements given the right incentive. Have you got a system that rewards clients for their referrals and so creates incentives for a flow of new business? If not, why not?  Do your clients know that you want more business referrals, if not why not?

Friday’s frequent freebies

Back by popular demand is this Friday Freebie!

If you are motivated and determined but need some help with marketing your training business then get on my on-line programme.  This is currently available for an amazing price of £99 and gives you 10 weeks of activities designed to boost your business.  To get on the programme go to this page.  If you do and you Direct Message me on Twitter I’ll give you a free coaching session over the phone or Skype.

Daily marketing tips for trainers: Number 23

Hi Trainers and Coaches

Monday Morning Must Do’s

Check out our Sunday blog.

Tuesdays’ Tips

Tuesday’s tip for trainers this week to help you grow your training business is simply this: Before you do anything else today, ask yourself “what is my mission today? How much have I done today to achieve it? What else must I do today?

Wednesday’s Wishlist

Marketing your training business can become all consuming if you are not careful. So ensure you have a strategy, a plan and some milestones to reach and direct your efforts accordingly. And make sure you take note of Thursday’s theme this week. See below!

Thursday’s Themes

How To Market Training’s theme to help you grow your training business is very relevant today as I am flying back from my holiday in Sri Lanka! To be able to perform consistently and think creatively, keep your energy and enthusiasm up make sure you regularly make time to:

Drink loads of water

Get 7 hours sleep

Exercise regularly

And do fun, creative things that have nothing to do with marketing or training! Like lots of holidays and short breaks

It is so easy to burn yourself out because running a training business is relentless. I know this only too well after 22 years of it! So invest in ‘me time’ and it will pay dividends with your ultimate training business results.

Friday’s Freebies

Make the most of our free coaching offer – check out our site and click on the image of me in the teacup! You’ll be able to sign up for a half hour coaching session with me, currently worth £150.00. I’m back from my hols now so grab a place now.

Daily marketing tips for trainers Number 14

Hi Trainers and Coaches

Monday Morning Must Do’s

Check out our Sunday blog.  In response to the huge interest everyone showed in our recent video on writing compelling headlines that get the results you want, this week’s blog extends the advice on writing copy.  It will help you whether you are writing pages on your websites, marketing emails, direct mail or advertorials.  Get your How to use my “Rule of 9″ to create engaging content here.

Tuesdays’ Tips

If you have a blog that is separate to your website, make sure there is a clear link to your site and your business.  Give great content and advice in your musings, but ensure that this subtly endorses and connects with the support you offer through your products and services.  A blog is not an overt sales tool, but it can certainly extend your messages, demonstrate your expertise and add value to your brand.

Wednesdays’ Wish Lists

What plans do you have at the moment to take your training business forwards?  Are you doing anything about it or is it just another ‘want to do’ on the wishlist?  This Wednesday remember that the pain of where we are outweighs the pain of changing so take one step today towards implementing action points to take you where you want to be.

Thursdays’ Themes

Today’s the day to revisit your copywriting on your website, mailers, and emails etc.  Is it compelling?  Does it stimulate action?  If not, then why write it?  Spend a couple of minutes to visit (or revisit) my video blog which gives you some fab alternatives for writing those attention grabbing headlines that can improve your response/click through rate.  Watch it here

Friday’s Freebies

If you’ve put Thursday’s theme into practice and rewritten some headlines or copy then well done.  I’m offering to critique one direct mail letter or an email for you.  Only available to the first person to DM me today (Friday  25th May) @ToSellTraining and quote “Friday Freebie copy critique.”  I’ll then get in touch to make the arrangements.  Have a good day.

Daily marketing tips for trainers Number 12

Hi Trainers and Coaches

Marketing Tips For Trainers

Another week has rushed by so here we are with this week’s marketing tips for trainers and coaches.

Monday Morning Must Do’s

Check out our Sunday blog. It’s a video this time, and in it I share some really important tips for ensuring your website generates leads.

Tuesdays’ Tips

Weekly tips for trainers on marketingWhen you are writing copy to send to your prospects and clients make sure that you only have one offer. Robert Collier, back in the 1930s, proved that making more than one offer in a mailshot dramatically ruins the chances of both.

Wednesdays’ Wish Lists

Having just spoken at the BDA conference at MCCC last week, I can tell you it’s great to be invited into the speaker’s lounge and get the attention and feedback from helping lots of people at events like this. So why not take some time out to plan how you could get invited to be one of the speakers at a coveted event in your niche?

Thursdays’ Themes

Make sure you’ve read the 42 page CIPD Annual Survey report that came out at the beginning of May. It’s got information in there that all freelance trainers and training business owners need to know about and keep up to date with. I wrote a short blog about it when the report first came out. It’s on our site here.

Friday’s Freebies

One place is going for FREE on our Accelerate Profits workshop in Central London on 22 June, for the first freelance trainer or training business owner or coach who DMS me @ToSellTraining or emails me at alison@howtomarkettraining.co.uk . It’s had rave reviews and will give you loads of ideas for growing your training business, your profits and improving your work life balance.
